When I left the hospital, they sent a prescription home with me for pain. They said it was a lot stronger then the morphine drip I was on in the hospital, and that I would need it so make sure I stay ahead of the pain and use it when it was time.
Not being one who likes to take drugs, I told my daughter Amy that I probably wouldn't be taking those pain pills. Being a nurse and having heard such nonsense many times on the job, she asked me why not, was I afraid of becoming addicted? I told her becoming addicted never entered my mind. I just felt I was too noble. Once she stopped laughing and caught her breath I explained that "noble" probably wasn't the right word. I meant that I felt strong enough to fight the pain on my own...I felt I had enough within me to get through it. Now, she starts laughing again. That's just as silly as thinking you'd become addicted!
Well, when my Physical Therapist, other wise known as Anu the Annihilator is finished with me I want to swallow the next two doses of pain pills! Now I'm worried I don't have enough of those pills!
Once Anu throws my leg over her shoulder and stretches it up and toward my head, then flips me over, bends my knee, and pushes my leg toward my back, not to mention having me march, use resistance bands, stand on my toes and Lord knows what else is coming, my day is finished! Oh, she always calls me before she arrives. Know what she tells me?
Be sure to take your pain pills before I get there!
Not to worry Anu.
It is well with my soul

Good girl - take the pills, so you can do the work! It's all part of the healing process!
This isn't the same thing as natural childbirth .. take the pills :)
Take the pills. You are the most "noble" woman I know. LOL
LOL! I remember having a C-section and I didn't take the pills the first day, they found me literally balling in the hallway trying to get a shower... first question they asked me? did you take your pain meds? Answer? No. I stood there while they got them. LOL.
Take your meds!
I told you!
The pain pills are given to help with healing. Sometimes it takes us time to learn. I think you are learning..........
Ha ha, I'm like this with pills but sometimes they are necessary to make you better! Good luck with the work outs! Ouch!
