I added coconut to ours, but as you will see on the recipe, there are many options. I also only used one cup of sugar instead of two.

I checked the recipe... its almost the same as an applesauce cake I make. I guess the applesauce takes the place of her can of pineapple. I don't frost mine. I like the name "Preacher's Cake".
